Did you know that you can store real Eggs for 2 years in your food storage? Yes, truly, believe it or not it is possible!
All you need:
Styrofoam carton of eggs (not paper)
Petroleum jelly
All you do: Take very little PJ on your hands and rub each egg till it is fully covered. Then place the narrow end down into the carton.
Reason being? Well the reason eggs go bad is because the shell absorbs air therefore over time bacteria gets through and rots the egg. Well if you cut off the air flow into the egg, believe it or not preserves the yokes inside b/c nothing can get in to do its natural process. Al l you are doing is slowing that process down. Now if its been a year or so later...it just may be best to avoid over-easy eggs...but everything else: omelets, bread, pancakes, cakes, scrambled eggs, boiled etc...its all good! Remember to rotate...use and replace as you go. ;0)
